How to estimate overtime and surcharge pay according to common CAO rules?¶

Overtime is typically triggered after the standard working week, often 40 hours, or after the normal daily shift duration. Most Dutch CAOs apply a surcharge of 25% to 50% on top of the base hourly rate for overtime hours, and higher percentages for evening, night, or weekend work. Your agreed rates with Cruits are based on the ABU framework and are reflected in the hourly rate prefilled by the CAO integration in the job posting form. For the specific surcharge percentages applicable to your placements, refer to your framework agreement or contact Cruits Manager at management@cruits.com. When configuring job postings, ensure the Hours per Week field accurately reflects the intended contracted hours, as this is the baseline against which actual timesheet hours are compared.
